Seeking a Stage Manager

Kandinsky are seeking a Stage Manager to support the rehearsals and productions for a brand new show, soon to be announced.

Full dates: 2 December 2021 to 26 February 2022.

Pay: £450 a week (plus holiday pay).

Who are we looking for?
An experienced stage manager on the book, to support a collaborative rehearsal period, run technical rehearsals and operate the show’s sound and lighting through Qlab. Some familiarity with Qlab is a bonus, as is any technical knowledge, but people skills and the ability to support a small company of performers is equally important. Experience troubleshooting tech and sound would be a bonus, as would knowledge of how to put a book together during a devising process (although this will be supported and prior experience is not vital).

Engagement details:
The engagement covers four weeks of rehearsals at NDT Broadgate (with a break over Christmas), a tech week at New Diorama Theatre and performances Monday to Saturday (including Sat matinees). There will be two additional weekday matinees added over the course of the run but performances will not exceed 8 shows a week. The final week will take place outside of London, for which all travel and accommodation expenses will be met.

To apply:
Email outlining your availability and a little bit about you (preferably in the form of a CV) ASAP.

Kandinsky in Vienna

We’re delighted to announce that we’ve been commissioned to make a new show by Schauspielhaus Wien. The show, SHTF, will premiere in Vienna in February 2021. You can find out more on our website and the theatre’s website.

Kandinsky is recruiting Trustees

Two of our founding trustees will step down at the end of the year. We are undertaking our first major period of board recruitment, not only to replace them, but to expand the Trustees’ wider skillset. This is an opportunity to join a largely newly-established Board at an exciting stage of Kandinsky’s development, as we attempt to transition from fringe favourites to a company making ambitious work for British and international stages.

We’re interested in meeting new people from across the UK, with and without prior Board experience. Kandinsky is committed to equal opportunities and welcomes candidates from all backgrounds. We’re particularly keen to encourage applications from candidates from Black, Asian, minority ethnic and POC backgrounds, as well as working-class candidates, those with non-traditional theatre industry experience or educational backgrounds and candidates based outside of London.

Recruitment will take place across autumn 2020. Please download the information pack to find out more about Kandinsky, the role of our Trustees and their responsibilities, and how to apply.
