Seeking a Legal Trustee

We’re looking for a new Trustee to join our Board. All our Board members have particular areas of familiarity, and we’re now seeking someone who has legal expertise, to replace an outgoing Trustee. The right person will have familiarity with the law, especially those areas which are relevant to us, such as Charity Law, Copyright, IP, Contracts and Employment Law.

We are working increasingly outside the UK, so familiarity with the legal repercussions of Brexit and European visa laws would be a bonus.

Kandinsky is a registered charity (no. 1134756) and a Company limited by Guarantee (no. 7169361). Board members have legal responsibilities as a Company Director, including making sure we are compliant with company and employment law, health and safety legislation, equal opportunities and laws around working with children and young people. All Board members read and sign off on our annual accounts, and work together to make sure we don’t do anything that might place our funds, assets or reputation at risk.

Kandinsky is a small, nimble company with an engaged, recently-refreshed Board – our Trustees make a genuine difference to the running of the company and gain real insight into every aspect of our work.

For more information about what we are looking for and how to apply, please read the recruitment pack. The pack also includes more information on how to apply for the role or how to speak to our Chair for an informal conversation about what being a Trustee involves.

We would appreciate applicants completing an Equal Opportunities Form, which you can download here. Please note that this is for internal monitoring purposes only and will not be used as part of the recruitment process.

Seeking a Stage Manager

Kandinsky are seeking a Stage Manager to support the rehearsals and productions for a brand new show, soon to be announced.

Full dates: 2 December 2021 to 26 February 2022.

Pay: £450 a week (plus holiday pay).

Who are we looking for?
An experienced stage manager on the book, to support a collaborative rehearsal period, run technical rehearsals and operate the show’s sound and lighting through Qlab. Some familiarity with Qlab is a bonus, as is any technical knowledge, but people skills and the ability to support a small company of performers is equally important. Experience troubleshooting tech and sound would be a bonus, as would knowledge of how to put a book together during a devising process (although this will be supported and prior experience is not vital).

Engagement details:
The engagement covers four weeks of rehearsals at NDT Broadgate (with a break over Christmas), a tech week at New Diorama Theatre and performances Monday to Saturday (including Sat matinees). There will be two additional weekday matinees added over the course of the run but performances will not exceed 8 shows a week. The final week will take place outside of London, for which all travel and accommodation expenses will be met.

To apply:
Email lauren@kandinsky-online.com outlining your availability and a little bit about you (preferably in the form of a CV) ASAP.

★★★★ “intriguing, fascinating” Whatsonstage

★★★★ “a slick, insightful and often very funny exploration of the distorting power of unexamined nostalgia” The Stage

★★★★★ “Unmissable! Exceptional & innovative” Everything Theatre

The show will be running in Oxford, at the North Wall, after it closes in London.

Please visit the venue websites for more information or tickets to see the show in London or in Oxford.
